Colorado Technical University Online recently became one of fewer than 20 institutions in the world that offer university-level programs in project management fully accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI) Global Accreditation Center for Project Management (GAC), the world’s leading association for project management professionals. The not-for-profit PMI has more than 270,000 members around the world, providing global leadership and developing standards of practice for PM professionals.

3/27/08 Twenty-five Wounded Service Members Receive Full Scholarships
Twenty-five United States service men and women at Walter Reed Army Medical Center have been awarded full Wounded Warrior Scholarships from Colorado Technical University Online (CTU Online). Recipients were chosen by a ten-person scholarship selection board including former military officers and Career Education Corporation educators and chaired by Tammy Duckworth, Director of the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs, a Major in the Illinois Army National Guard, and a Wounded Warrior herself. The recipients, who come from across the country, were honored at a dinner on March 8, 2008, at Walter Reed, which was attended by General Richard A. Cody, the Vice Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army. Nineteen of the recipients will pursue associate degrees, five will pursue their bachelor's, and one recipient will enter a master's program. In developing the one-time scholarship program, CTU Online worked with the Helping Our Heroes Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides a way for donated funds and services to directly reach our injured service men and women.

2/26/08 CTU Earns High Honors From the Council of College and Military Educators
Colorado Technical University (CTU) was recently awarded the prestigious 2007 Institution Award by the Council of College and Military Educators. The honor, awarded for an institution's "dedication, leadership and numerous accomplishments in providing quality voluntary off-duty education programs" to the military, is highly respected in military circles. Greg Mitchell, president of CTU Colorado Springs, received the award on behalf of Colorado Technical University at the CCME symposium held last week in San Francisco.

Colorado Technical University announces the appointment of Richard Kettner-Polley, Ph.D. (Harvard University) as University Dean of Management with responsibility for management programs across all CTU campuses. Having previously served as Chancellor of CTU's Institute for Advanced Studies, Dr. Kettner-Polley now turns his expertise to the demands of undergraduate, masters and doctoral programs in management across the six ground campuses and the online division.

9/12/07 Colorado Tech Online adds concentration in Mediation and Dispute Resolution to MBA program for students interested in becoming skilled at negotiating tacit or contractual agreements in the modern world.
Dispute resolution has become increasingly significant in modern business environments because it can prevent the involved parties from becoming entangled in costly litigation, strikes or other disruptions. Specialists involved in dispute resolution must be highly knowledgeable and experienced and often report to the director of industrial relations.
The MBA with a concentration in Mediation and Dispute Resolution is offered by Colorado Technical University in affiliation with the Institute for Advanced Dispute Resolution (IADR). The program is designed to help graduates prepare to pursue career opportunities such as Arbitrators, Legal Consultants, Labor Relations Managers, Conflict Management Specialists, Integration Managers and many others.

Colorado Tech Online instructor named "Educator of the Year". August 1, 2006
Colorado Technical University is pleased to announce that faculty member Christina Anastasia has been named "Educator of the Year" by Career Education Corporation. This award, which is presented to eight educators each year, is based on four criteria: engaging students, quality teaching, monitoring student progress, and leadership.
Ms. Anastasia is a member of the Colorado Tech Online faculty and teaches human resources and organizational behavior courses in the undergraduate program. She also has been active in various university initiatives, including helping with the 2005 Faculty Summit and serving on select university committees. Ms. Anastasia is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Organization and Management.

Colorado Tech Online has added two new MBA degree program concentrations to its School of Business. The concentration in Accounting helps prepare students with the knowledge and credentials they can use to pursue a broad range of positions within the accounting field, including: Controllers, Budget Managers, CFOs, or Directors of Finance. The concentration in Finance helps students learn how to analyze financial information in order to make decisions that can enhance the prospects for successful business initiatives. Both programs include resume-enhancing CTU Academic Certificates. Classes begin January 1, 2006.
